Is the procedure painful?
You might feel slight discomfort having iPixel treatment compared to our other laser treatments, but the utmost care will be taken to make sure you are comfortable at all times and a topical anaesthetic can be applied if requested.
Is there any downtime after iPixel?
Immediately after treatment, there may be heat of moderate intensity and excessive redness and swelling at the treatment area. This may feel like a mild sunburn. This may continue for the next few days. Downtime can vary from person to person but normally it can take up to sevens days to fully recover. We will provide you with a detailed advice sheet to take home.
Do I need a course of treatments with iPixel?
On average, clients require three treatments, once every four weeks. Some clients may need more than one course. Our laser specialist will advise you during your initial consultation what course of treatment she recommends.
What can I expect in terms of the recovery period?
Redness and sunburnt feeling for up to 2 days
Pixel pattern on area for 3-7 days with flaking
Mild swelling for 3-5 days
Full recovery by 7-10 days
What aftercare should be followed?
SPF 50 should be applied regularly and avoid the sun for 4 weeks
Products for sensitive skin to be used until skin is fully healed
Do not pick or exfoliate skin
How does it work?
Unlike traditional laser dermabrasion (where the entire layer of the skin is removed) iPixel emits pixelated lasers which penetrate the skin and target the damaged areas to activate the repair process. The unaffected tissue between the controlled micro-wounds, start the process of healing and as collagen remodels, the skin tightens and texture improves.
To achieve and maintain the best possible effect, 3-4 treatments are recommended every 4-6 weeks.
