ClearSkin Pro Acne Treatment

ClearSkin PRO is a non-ablative fractional laser treatment with a wavelength of 1540 nm. The energy from this laser penetrates to the dermis (under the skin’s surface) to create microscopic “columns” or zones of thermal injury, triggering the body’s healing response: new collagen, elastin, and extracellular matrix are produced. It specifically targets sebaceous glands to reduce oil production, destroys acne-causing bacteria (e.g., P. acnes), and clears deep pore congestion, while still leaving the skin surface intact meaning there is little to no downtime with this treatment.
A course of 4-6 treatments is required at 2 week intervals.
Suitable for the treatment of:
• Active acne (including moderate to severe forms) such as papules, pustules and nodules.
• Excess oiliness and overactive sebaceous glands and enlarged pores.
• Acne scarring and uneven skin texture (post acne marks).
• Skin rejuvenation: fine lines, wrinkles, laxity, uneven tone and texture.
The laser delivers high-energy pulses (up to ~3000 mJ per pulse) via the 1540 nm wavelength.

The built-in cooling (and sometimes vacuum) system protects the epidermis and helps with comfort and safety.
Before starting the treatment program, we will conduct a skin consultation to understand your skin. We will also perform a skin test on the treatment area during the consultation to ensure your skin is suitable for the procedure.
At the first appointment, we will cleanse the skin and then apply the laser handpiece to your skin, moving it across the treatment area several times in different directions to ensure even coverage.
Since the rays of the fractional laser heat your skin, a mild flicking sensation can be felt on the skin, however, the ClearSkin Er:Glass has an integrated contact cooling system which makes the treatment comfortable.
After the treatment, your skin will be mildly red but this will subside within 2- 12 hours.

Generally most patients will need 4-6 treatments done in 2 week intervals. Treatment is suitable for most people; however, prior to treatment a free consultation is mandatory during which a medical history is taken and an assessment of the desired treatment area is carried out. This will then allow the practitioner to determine suitability for treatment, how many sessions will be required and the expected results.
There is little or no downtime with this fast and effective treatment. However, there may be some mild redness on the skin.
