Sterex ACP (Advanced Cosmetic Procedures) is a treatment that uses a fine needle to deliver a small thermolysis current to the targeted area to either cauterise or lift away the blemish and allowing it to be removed or fade, depending on the type of blemish that is being treated.
You will need to have a consultation first with our advanced skin specialist who will diagnose the blemish and fully explain the treatment needed, how it will be done, the time it will take, and any aftercare required. This is so all our clients are fully informed about the procedure and feel comfortable and relaxed when they go ahead with the treatment.
Please consult your GP if you are unsure of any skin blemishes and growths. Certain medical conditions restrict treatment.
During the consultation, we will answer any questions you may have about this treatment and provide personalized advice. If you are suitable for treatment, we will be able to carry out the procedure in the clinic either that day or we can rebook you to come back on an alternative day.
Milia Needle Extraction:
Once the skin with milia has been cleaned, a sterile needle is used to create a tiny incision, and the contents of the milia are carefully extracted.
Lesion Removal – Skin Tag, Milia, Warts, Keratosis, Cysts, Cherry Angioma, Spider Nevi:
First, the skin is sterilised and an anesthetic cream is applied to the treatment area to minimize discomfort. The electrologist then uses a metal probe or needle to cauterize or cosmetically reduce vascular or abnormal growths. Generally, repeat treatments are not necessary once the lesion is removed. We offer complimentary follow up review visits to see if any remedial work is necessary. If you are prone to developing a particular skin condition, new growths may appear in the future, which can also be treated with maintenance treatments
Sterex ACP can be used on various body parts, including the face, torso, arms, and legs
The length of treatment varies depending on the size and type of blemish, but it can be as short as a few minutes for smaller issues.
You might feel a mild tingling, warmth or pinprick sensation during treatment. Some redness or mild discomfort may occur afterward, but it usually subsides quickly.
Many issues are resolved immediately, while others may take a few days to heal. Aftercare products are often recommended to soothe the treated area.
The number of treatments depends on the specific skin concern. Most lesions can be removed in a single session, while others may require multiple appointments which will be discussed at your consultation.
We offer free review appointments to check how the skin is healing and if any remedial work is required.
- Keep the area clean and dry: Avoid washing the area with soap and water for the first 24 hours.
- Sun protection: Apply SPF 50 sunscreen to the treated area to prevent pigmentation.
- Soothing: Apply Aloe Vera or a cool compress (not ice) to soothe the area if needed.
- Avoid picking: Do not pick at any crusts or scabs that may form, as they should be left to fall off naturally.
- Healing time: Allow up to two weeks for complete healing.
- Aftercare products: Aquaphor, biafin or Aloe Vera, can help soothe, calm, and protect the skin after treatment. Bactroban in certain instances may also be required.
- Avoid makeup: For facial electrolysis, avoid applying makeup for at least 24 hours.
